About Alex Dabek

Alex is an Associate in the Spinal Injury team at Bolt Burdon Kemp.  She is of dual nationality (Polish-British) and speaks fluent Polish.

Having joined the firm in 2007 as a paralegal, Alex subsequently obtained a training contract with the firm, qualifying as a solicitor in March 2012.

Alex acts for people who have sustained a Spinal Cord Injury as a result of medical errors or accidents.

Prior to specialising in Spinal Injury claims, Alex assisted on a number of high value claims involving catastrophic injuries.  The claims included an amputation claim (settled for £1.7 million), a complex claim for spinal cord injury following a scoliosis operation (settled for £5.3 million) and a clinical negligence claim for a child for failure to treat GBS infection.

Alex’s current deals with a varied caseload of spinal injury cases and includes claims for delayed diagnosis and treatment of Cauda Equina Syndrome, delayed diagnosis and treatment of discitis (inflammation in the spine) and for delayed diagnosis of spinal abscess all of which have resulted in life changing injuries.

In addition, Alex has represented many vulnerable clients, including those who lack mental capacity and children.

Alex is immensely passionate about her work.  Improving the quality of life for the clients and getting the best results for them is what motivates her most.

Alex is a trustee of Diverse City, a charity whose ambition is to break barriers, to transform artistic performance and to place diverse groups at the centre of the industry.

Alex is the Secretary for APIL Spinal Cord Injuries Special Interest Group.

Alex has organised a number of charity events and helped to put together Wheelchair Awareness Dayduring which able bodied lawyers were given an opportunity to experience the challenges encountered by wheelchair users on a daily basis.
