About Anita Jewitt

Anita trained with Irwin Mitchell and qualified as a solicitor in March 2008. She was promoted to the position of associate in November 2011 and became a partner in May 2015. She is based in the firm's London office.

Anita has experience in spinal injury cases, such as the delayed diagnosis of spinal tuberculosis and cauda equina syndrome, as well as experience in infectious diseases cases.  She also represents several clients in relation to delays in diagnosing meningococcal septicaemia.

Recent Career Highlights Include: • AR v Kingston Hospital NHS Trust £8.5 million for a child with quadriplegic cerebral palsy following the hospital's delay in expediting his delivery. • Re: HO £7.4 million for a child who sustained bilateral upper and lower limb amputations as a result of the delayed diagnosis of meningoccal septicaemia. • SH v Colchester General Hospital £6 million for a child who suffered from cerebral palsy as a result of the hospital’s failure to carry out an earlier caesarean section. • EW v Barking, Havering and Redbridge Hospitals NHS Trust £6.6 million for a child who suffered almost total visual loss and learning difficulties as a result of the delayed diagnosis of neonatal hypoglycaemia.
