Carly Saxon, Medical Negligence Solicitor at Simpson Millar

Carly completed her training contract at The Berkson Globe Partnership where she was predominately specialising in child protection which meant the majority of her caseload was litigated. As part of her training contract she was seconded to Goodmans Law where she undertook a 3 month seat in the Clinical Negligence Department. Carly qualified as a Solicitor in 2013.

Carly moved to Slater and Gordon Lawyers in March 2014 and was one of the Solicitors involved in the George Rowland Litigation. From this she developed a particular interest and expertise in urogynaecology cases. Alongside the group action, Carly ran a varied clinical negligence caseload.

In May 2016 Carly joined the medical negligence team at Your Legal Friend. The team she is part of at Your Legal Friend was described by Chambers 2017 as ‘very responsive and on the ball’. Carly supervised her own sub-team of solicitors and paralegals and is also responsible for vetting new cases into the firm.

In December 2019 Carly joined Simpon Millar as a Senior Associate. She runs a varied case load which is a combination of Pre Action and Litigated claims. She deals with complex cases including brain injury, amputation, birth injuries and spinal injury cases. She also runs cases dealing with delay in diagnosis of cancer, orthopaedic injuries and fatal accidents.

In 2018 Carly was shortlisted for AvMA’s Clinical Negligence Rising Star Award.

Carly was recognised as a Recommended Lawyer in Legal 500 2020 as a solicitor who is ‘great with clients and shows judgement and skill far beyond her experience. A really safe pair of hands and clearly a star of the future’.
