About Claire WatsonSince qualifying in 1989, Claire has worked in personal injury litigation throughout her career. She joined George Ide in 1994, and became a Partner in 2002.
Claire specialises in catastrophic and complex injury claims including brain injury, amputee and fatal accident claims.
She has been recognised in Chambers Legal Directory as a leading individual solicitor since 2006 and has been described in Chambers as someone who takes "a balanced approach to cases," and "does not take an adversarial approach unless that is what is wanted", someone who is "friendly, sensitive and understands how difficult personal injury work can be", " hugely talented, with an impressively calm and clear approach" and she has also been noted for her "extremely conscientious approach" and "very good insight into vocational rehabilitation".
Claire has been involved in a number of high-profile brain injury and amputee cases and is not shy of taking cases to trial when that course of action is necessary.
Since October 2008, Claire has chaired Headway in West Sussex - a charity which supports people with acquired brain injury, their families and carers. She has worked with Headway for more than ten years, having also previously been chair of Headway in Portsmouth.
Claire is a member of Sussex Acquired Brain Injury Forum and has a keen interest in developing services for Headway service users.
