About Ian Bailey
Trained at Irwin Mitchell and qualifying in 1994, Ian is a Fellow of APIL and a specialist asbestos lawyer with a reputation for delivering high quality client focussed legal advice for sufferers of asbestos diseases and principally mesothelioma. He leads the asbestos group at Irwin Mitchell and has been involved in leading cases in asbestos law since 1996, and acted for the Claimant in the Court of Appeal case of Cox v Transco (a leading case on asbestos exposure by an occupier and inferences to be drawn from primary facts) and in the case of Gardner v Royal & Sun Alliance, an important case in terms of insurance cover.
He has been a key member of the Irwin Mitchell’s workplace illness management group for many years and is active in the London and south east legal community, working closely with barristers and medical professionals. He is regularly requested to present on asbestos issues for patients and health professionals.
