I am a Partner in the Child Brain Injury team at Bolt Burdon Kemp. https://www.boltburdonkemp.co.uk/team/jo/
Acting exclusively for children and young people who have suffered serious brain injuries, I have over 20 years’ experience of severe and complex claims, including birth related brain injury, stroke, traumatic and acquired brain injury.
My clients include those who are in a minimally conscious state or whose level of awareness is uncertain as well as those with an “invisible” brain injury that can be easily overlooked but often has devastating long term consequences.
I aim to provide my clients and their families with all the support they need, while pursing the claim as quickly as possible, as I know that early intervention makes all the difference to the future outcome.
I am an IPSEA-qualified special educational needs advisor having completed training with Independent Parental Special Educational Needs Advice (IPSEA), so I can ensure that a child with a brain injury is given the right educational support and is not unjustly labelled “naughty”.
I adopt a client-centred and team-based approach to managing the claim and all related issues such as rehabilitation, care and finance.
Outside work, I'm a keen horse rider and I volunteer at RDA Penniwells http://www.penniwellsrda.com/, on behalf of Bolt Burdon Kemp, which sponsors Coco, the pony, there. I also love running and recently ran the London 10k, raising money for the wonderful charity, the Child Brain Injury Trust: https://childbraininjurytrust.org.uk/.
