Lucy joined Lanyon Bowdler's clinical negligence department in October 2010 and leads the Hereford clinical negligence team. She became a partner in 2013.  Lucy has over 22 years experience in both clinical negligence and personal injury litigation acting solely for the victim. 

She is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers where she is recognised as a senior litigator. She is a member of AvMA (Action Against Medical Accidents) the Specialist Clinical Negligence Panel.  Lucy has acted for clients who have suffered head injuries and has a wide range of experience of medical negligence work including orthopaedic, obstetrics and gynaecology, oncology, cosmetic surgery and GP care and has significant experience in complex fatal clinical negligence claims. 

Lucy is recognised and ranked as a top-level, Band 1 in the 2018 edition of Chambers UK which states; 'Lucy Small is active in a wide range of clinical negligence matters, including delay in diagnosis cases, cerebral palsy claims and injury arising in psychiatric units.
