Karl completed his law degree at Manchester University and then attended Guildford College of Law. He qualified in 1990. Karl is a member of the national executive committee of APIL (Association of Personal Injury Lawyers). He is also an assessor for the SRA panel of Personal Injury Lawyers. He is a partner at Fentons LLP.

Karl is head of employers liability and training at Fentons. He has particular expertise in accidents at work and industrial disease.

Outside of work Karl enjoys cycling and hillwalking.
