Peter Deary

Peter has had almost 30 years’ experience of asbestos matters.

 

As one of HM Inspectors of Factories for 11 years, Peter was responsible for enforcing health and safety legislation in various locations.  In particular, he inspected large and small asbestos product manufacturers, users of asbestos materials, asbestos stripping contractors, asbestos waste disposal contractors and waste disposal authorities.  His work took him to factories, colleges, power stations, hospitals, ships, waste tips, domestic premises, construction sites and many other locations where work with asbestos containing materials was being undertaken.  He attended several asbestos training courses and for approximately 3 years, he was the Nominated Asbestos Inspector in Greater Manchester.  In that role, he advised other inspectors, environmental health officers and other interested parties with regard to asbestos matters.

 

Peter has prepared over 3,000 asbestos reports for Claimants’, Defendants’ and Third Party Solicitors.  He has also prepared asbestos reports for overseas solicitors.  On many occasions, he has lectured on asbestos matters to lawyers and doctors.

 

Peter has reported in many of the high profile asbestos cases of recent years, including Holtby, Fairchild, Jeromson, Margereson, etc.
