Jon has been a consultant in ophthalmology since 2010 having completed 10 years of training mainly in the UK.
He studied medicine at St. Andrews University and the University of Manchester before commencing his specialist training in ophthalmology.
He is a NHS consultant based at the Liverpool University Hospital NHS Trust and the specialist neuroscience centre, the Walton Centre.
His clinical practice encompasses all aspects of ophthalmology but he is the lead clinician for adult strabismus and neuro-ophthalmology being responsible for developing and leading these important aspects of ophthalmology for the lovely people of Merseyside.
He has published over 30 articles in peer-reviewed medical literature, mainly dealing with the positive effects of squint surgery.
Training is a vastly important part of medicine and he is the training programme director for the ophthalmic trainees in Merseyside.
In addition to his clinical work, he is an honorary member of DVLA Medical Advisory Panel.
