About Colin EttingerColin Ettinger started practice in personal injury cases in May 1976 when he was articled to Robin Thompson & Partners. He was made a partner there in 1980 and became part of their senior management team. In 1995 he left with two colleagues to set up the London office of Irwin Mitchell. The personal injury practice in the London office has grown from strength to strength. For a few years now this office has been regarded as one of, if not the, strongest Claimant personal injury practice in London He specialises in acting for those who have been seriously injured. He also has a particular interest in cases involving Health and Safety at Work issues He has considerable expertise in dealing with these types of cases. Colin has been described as a “Claimant’s champion”, and has been given particular praise for his receptiveness to client rehabilitation issues. For a number of years he has been rated as one of the top Claimant lawyers in London, and now, in England. Colin joined the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (API) when it was founded in 1990. He was their first London Regional Co-ordinator in 1995 and was voted on to the Executive in 1999. He became Vice President in 2003 and President in 2004. He is now a Past President, life Member and Senior Fellow. He was elected to the executive in 2013. He has also received accreditation for brain injury work. In 2007 Colin was awarded an honorary research Fellowship at the School of Law, Lancaster University. He was awarded this for contribution to personal injury work and gaining justice for his clients. Colin is also on the editorial board of the Journal of Personal Injury Law, a Patron of RoadPeace (a charity that supports the victims of road crashes) and is a Vice President of the College of Occupational Therapists.
