About Madeline Seibert

I am a Partner and Head of the Medical Negligence Department at Attwaters Jameson Hill, dealing with a wide range of medical negligence cases including surgical error, misdiagnosis and sub-standard nursing and midwifery care, with a particular interest in claims involving injuries to mother or baby during pregnancy and labour. I also represent families at Inquest and high value fatal accident claims including preventable suicide cases.

Amongst my career highlights are:

  • £1.75 million brain injury settlement concerning a child who was injured as a result of the mismanagement of his mother’s labour where liability and causation were strongly contested

  • Admission of liability and causation ans Judgment enetered in a multi-million pound child brain injury case

  • £450K settlement for a young woman injured as a result of substandard surgery causing spinal accessory nerve damage

  • £250K settlement for injury caused by negligently performed bladder surgery

  • Gaining specialist Medical Negligence Panel appointments with The Law Society and AvMA

  • Being recommended in Chambers publication (Band 1 in Chambers and Partners 2016 and Legal 500)

  • Described as an "effective litigator and good tactician" by the Legal 500 and "tough and uncompromising in terms of negotiating but never forgetful of the human side" by Chambers and Partners 2016

Why Medical Negligence? The work is challenging but we are committed to fighting for justice and providing an exceptional, client-focused service to bereaved families and injured persons.  I recently received a letter from a client that epitomises my desire to do the very best I can for my clients, “I can't thank you enough for all the hard work that you put in for us to get the closure that we needed. You're a star. Too emotional to say anymore but thank you from the bottom of my heart” – that’s what makes the job so special for me.
