Conor Dufficy

Conor Dufficy advises, and acts in court for, claimants mostly, on a broad range of clinical negligence, product liability, general personal injury and commercial matters.

Conor has been instructed in complex multi-jurisdictional group actions. He has sat on internet and sports bodies’ regulatory panels. He has advised in all areas of clinical negligence including serious birth injuries, complex brain injuries, general treatment and robotic surgery. He has extensive experience in defective prosthesis litigation and related surgical issues.

Conor acted for over 200 claimants in cross-border hip prosthesis claims (Allen v Depuy International Limited ). He has also advised on other products sold and used across national frontiers. He was junior counsel in the Corin hip prosthesis litigation which settled before trial (Amor v Corin UK Ltd). He has particular experience in cosmetic/surgical implants and pharmaceuticals, office equipment and white goods.

He and Jill Paterson (a partner in product safety and consumer law at Leigh Day) co-authored an article concerning robotics in clinical negligence and product liability claims which was published in PI Focus in 2019.
