About David Sears
I am a highly-experienced solicitor specialising in representing people who have suffered catastrophic injuries, working in the personal injury sector since 2002 and qualifying as a solicitor in 2005.
I routinely deal with complex and high-value cases, specialising on maximising the value of my client’s claims, working closely with leading barristers and experts to secure the best outcomes.
I have a proven track-record of representing people with traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, other neurological injuries and serious orthopaedic injuries including amputations, and typically act in cases worth in excess of £1m, and often in cases worth more than £5m.
Owing to my expertise in representing clients with serious brain injury, I have particular experience in representing clients who lack capacity, working with Litigation Friends and Deputies to ensure that my clients are fully protected.
I have a reputation for placing an emphasis on rehabilitation, engaging with insurers at the earliest opportunity to try to ensure a collaborative approach to the claim, and to secure funding for early rehabilitation. I work closely with Case Managers, therapists and medical and rehabilitation providers to ensure the best possible rehabilitation outcomes for my clients.
I work hard to secure early interim payments in cases, which can relieve financial pressures and cover rehabilitation and other costs.
