Hugh has almost 30 years specialising in catastrophic brain and spinal cord personal injury cases, including professional negligence cases. Hugh acted for the Claimant in Wlkinson v Churchill referred by the Court of Appeal to the ECJ, and has acheived several record settlements, including the case of MM with settlement on full liability basis of £25 million and the case of TTT where damages of £30 million were secured.

Career

Hugh qualified in 1988, becoming a Partner in Pannone & Partners in 1990. Formed Hugh Potter & Company on 1 May 1998 which became Potter Rees Serious Injury Solicitors in October 2004 and Potter Rees Dolan in April 2014. Hugh is Managing Partner and Head of the Personal Injury Department at PRD. The firm has 27 fee-earners and provides specialist legal services to those who have suffered life changing injuries or have a long-term disability. PRD advises about large claims for compensation, the Court of Protection / Deputyship and Personal Injury Trusts, as well as Welfare Benefit advice for those with head and spinal cord injuries.
