I am a solicitor and Associate Director specialising in industrial disease claims at Oliver & Co Solicitors, Chester. My recent claims successes include:
£455,000.00 recovered for a widow who sadly lost her husband to mesothelioma. Her previous solicitors were unable to locate insurance for the defendant company, but I tracked down former employees of the company who were able to recall the name of the insurer with statements being taken from them. The claim succeeded deep into proceedings.
£475,000.00 recovered for a managing director with a serious respiratory disability caused by his pleural thickening. The case involved accountancy evidence as the claimant ran his own successful business and complex arguments were made on quantum to secure a high provisional damages figure.
I recovered compensation for a mother who most tragically lost her son to mesothelioma at the tender age of 21. He had suffered exposure as a baby when breathing in asbestos dust from his father's contaminated work clothes. The claim was made more difficult due to his father's HMRC work history failing to refer to the defendant as an employer. However, with the aid of witness statements I gathered to evidence the employment relationship, the claim succeeded.
I also recovered one of the highest value post death mesothelioma settlements in history at a figure in the millions. This was a very complex case involving exposure over a limited period of 2 days but succeeded without the need to go to trial.
