About Katherine Allen

I am a Partner at Hugh James specialising in Travel Law.  I act for tourists who have become ill or been injured on package holidays, in road accidents abroad, on cruise liners and on aeroplanes.

I also have experience in dealing with claims arising from aviation disasters and terrorist attacks. 

Graduating from the University of Wolverhampton before completing my legal training at the College of Law, London, I qualified as a solicitor in 1996.  I worked in the International Travel Litigation Group at Irwin Mitchell in Birmingham for over 10 years and I became a partner there in 2007.  I joined Fentons in January 2010 and became a partner in the firm in January 2011.  I joined Slater and Gordon as a Principal Lawyer in September 2013 when Fentons was acquired by them.  In August 2016 I joined Hugh James where I continue to represent the interests of those injured abroad.

I am a member of APIL with accredited status as a Senior Litigator and as an Accidents and Illness Abroad Specialist.  I am a member of the Pan-European Organisation of Personal Injury Lawyers (PEOPIL) and I chair PEOPIL's RTA European Exchange Group.  I am also a member of the Travel and Tourism Lawyers Association (TATLA) and the American Association for Justice (AAJ).
