About Kimberley Nightingale
I have worked in the Medical Negligence team at Irwin Mitchell since September 2015 and following my training, I qualified as a Solicitor in March 2020.
I am accredited by the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) as both a Senior Litigator and Clinical Negligence Specialist. I specialise in helping both adults and children and I have expertise in a wide range of cases involving stillbirths, spinal injuries, delays in diagnosis and fatal cases. I have a particular interest in delayed cancer diagnosis cases due to the complexities of the medicine and sensitive nature of the case.
Charity and community work is also an important part of my role. During my training I acted as a volunteer and coach for the Sheffield Smashers Boccia club, whose members suffer from both physical and learning disabilities. I currently lead the relationship that we have with Leeds Mencap and offer support for them throughout the year by helping with fundraising and arranging free legal clinics for the centre.
Outside of work, I am a regular player for the Irwin Mitchell netball team and enjoy walking with my cockapoo.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
Clients come to us not only for the compensation, but to find answers to what has happened to them and why. I aim to investigate this part of their claim as well as the legal side, to offer both answers and support to the client and their family.
