About Tom Ranson
I am a Partner in the Injury Services Group (Personal Injury) at Ashtons Legal and APIL Senior Litigator with over 30 years' experience at all levels within the field of personal injury litigation (including the appeal process and the SCCO).
I am privileged to act for injured clients across the length and breadth of the country and passionate about the work I do for them. I am committed to ensuring my clients get the best treatment, support and service right from the start and take great pride in ensuring my clients get the best possible results within the legal framework.
My practice is broad and whilst I advise on all aspects of injury litigation, I have a particular professional interest in complex polytrauma and causation cases arising from employers’ liability, public / occupiers’ liability and road traffic accidents. I also specialise in cases involving chronic pain, psychiatric trauma and traumatic brain injury (especially at the subtle end of the spectrum).
I am often asked to provide "second opinions" for clients (of other firms) on matters falling within my sphere of expertise (and am happy to do so).
I have extensive litigation / trial experience in the High and County Courts and have had a number of cases reported. In addition, I have secured many millions of pounds' worth of compensation for clients through negotiation and whilst I recognise that money cannot change the past, it can make a difference to the future.
The Legal 500 says of me that I am "like a Grandmaster of the chess world - a great listener and brilliant tactician with a very good sense of honesty and integrity and his level of expertise is second to none".
Chambers and Partners say of me that I am "immensely hardworking and clinically quite brilliant" an "exceptional litigator" who “pays attention to detail and gives excellent client care” and "Tom fiercely pursues claims in the best interests of his clients. If you need a solicitor to fight for you, Tom is that solicitor."
I am a longstanding member of various professional organisations, including: APIL, MASS and CILEx.
