Rebecca Maddock

I am an Associate Solicitor and I work as part of Irwin Mitchell's Serious Injury team in Newcastle and Middlesbrough.

Our team act for people who have sustained brain injuries or spinal injuries as a result of an accident. I have been working with adults and children with brain and spinal injuries for over ten years, helping them to obtain financial compensation for their injuries.

I help clients to obtain early payments in their case so that they can pay for rehabilitation that will help to improve their quality of life. Rehabilitation includes things such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, psychological therapy, assistance from support workers and vocational training to help people to return to work.

I like helping people and solving problems. I wanted to become a lawyer dealing with serious injury claims so that I could do my absolute best to provide clients with the legal advice they need and help them to improve their quality of life. People who have sustained serious life changing injuries need someone to advocate for them to ensure that they receive the support, treatment, therapy and financial compensation that they need, and to ensure that their needs are met for the rest of their life.

It gives me great satisfaction working as part of a team of highly dedicated personal injury experts (made up of lawyers, legal assistants, financial advisors, quantum analysts and where appropriate, experts in the Court of Protection, education, employment or public law teams). We work closely together with the common aims of implementing rehabilitation for clients, improving our client's quality of life and carefully calculating the amount of financial compensation that our client will need to ensure that their needs are met for the rest of their life.

Irwin Mitchell is an innovative firm, its lawyers are tenacious and stand up for clients and are not afraid to challenge the law. Irwin Mitchell prides itself on delivering excellent client care and I am proud to be part of a firm which strives to deliver an extremely high level of service for clients.

In my spare time I love spending time with my friends and family, cooking, travelling to new countries, reading and listening to music. I live in the countryside and enjoy outdoor activities including walking my dog. I also enjoy working with various different charities in the community and helping to fundraise for a range of different charities whenever I can.

I am the North East Coordinator of APIL and I am an APIL accredited senior litigator and an APIL accredited brain injury specialist.
