DR PHILIP BARBER FRCP
Dr. Barber is a consultant respiratory physician to the Manchester University Foundation NHS Trust, and specialist adviser to the NICE Centre for Clinical Practice.
He has written, lectured and published extensively on many aspects of respiratory medicine, including pulmonary function testing, lung cancer, and interventional bronchoscopy.
He has been a member of NICE Guideline Development groups, and of national working parties for the British Thoracic Society. He is a non-executive director of the Medicines Evaluation Unit, a recent recipient of the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade.
He has extensive experience of civil litigation in various aspects of respiratory medicine and lung injury, including asbestos-related lung and pleural disease, and has some experience of criminal law in relation to respiratory matters.
Recreational interests include membership of the Aston Martin Owners Club, walking, football, and classical piano.
