Will Young

Will has a broad practice including personal injury, clinical negligence and employment law.

Will acts for both claimants and defendants in personal injury actions, although primarily for claimants. His cases involve a wide range of personal injury actions, including claims under the Occupiers Liability Act, and the Fatal Accidents Act, as well as employers’ liability claims and travel claims, in particular under the Package Travel (et al) Regulations. He also appears at inquests, including an inquest concerning the death of passengers on a coach whilst on holiday in Thailand.

Within a travel law context, he has experience of gastric illness claims, as well as accidents abroad.

As well as being instructed as sole counsel in many cases, he is led by members of chambers in more complex and high value personal injury (and clinical negligence) claims, most of which are worth in excess of a million pounds. He therefore has experience of drafting complex Schedules of Loss and advising on such claims.

Will is the co-author (with Eliot Woolf QC) of the chapter on the Athens Convention in the recently-published APIL guide to Accidents Abroad (edited by Sarah Crowther QC).

He also takes part in seminars and events for solicitors’ firms, giving talks on relevant topics for CPD training. Recent and forthcoming topics have included: fraudulent claims and fundamental dishonesty, and the meaning and effect of X v Kuoni.

Will is a member of APIL and PIBA.
