Colin Murphy

Colin is a Senior Associate Solicitor specialising in International Travel Litigation. 

Colin has acted for clients in a range of serious international personal injury cases including; claims arising from accidents at work, accidents whilst on holiday and road traffic accidents. 

Colin has extensive experience dealing with complex jurisdiction and applicable law disputes as well as multi-party litigation.  Colin currently acts for hundreds of Liverpool FC fans who were affected by the events surrounding the Champion’s League final at the Stade de France in May 2022.   

Since qualification in 2013, Colin has worked exclusively in International Travel Litigation. He joined the travel litigation department at Pannone LLP in 2013 subsequently moving to Slater & Gordon. In 2018, Colin joined the travel litigation team at Leigh Day.

Colin is listed as Star Associate in Chambers & Partners 2023 with one commentator saying “Colin is an outstanding lawyer. He is tactically very astute, and his knowledge of the law is very strong” with another commending his ability to “look at things from every angle possible". Colin is also recognised in The Legal 500 for his ability to “combine academic interests in the thornier aspects of cross-border practice with excellent client management skills”. Colin is passionate about providing the highest standard of advice and support to his clients. He is the joint coordinator for APIL’s Multi-Party Actions special interest group. He is an active member of the leading Travel law bodies: PEOPIL; APIL ( special interest group); and TATLA. He regularly comments on travel law issues and presents at educational conferences.
