Phillip McGough is a clinical negligence executive with Freeths Solicitors in Nottingham. Phillip has worked in the clinical negligence team at Freeths since 2016, running a full caseload of clinical negligence claims covering such diverse disciplines as general surgery, cardiology, ophthalmology, nephrology, urology, obstetrics, orthopaedics, and dentistry. Phillip is presently involved in two high-profile multi-Claimant actions involving electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). Phillip is also developing an expertise in cases involving mental health issues in addition to cases involving the negligent treatment of children and the elderly in a care setting.
Phillip took his law degree at Nottingham Trent University’s Law School before commencing his legal career as a Personal Injury practitioner with Thompsons Solicitors in Nottingham in 2003. He joined Freeths in 2015, likewise in Personal Injury, before moving to clinical negligence practice in 2016.
Phillip has been a member of APIL since 2015 and the East Midlands regional coordinator for APIL since September 2021.
Phillip lives with his fiancé (and soon to be wife) Grace in a boisterous household of two dogs and two cats.
