Tina Patel

Tina is a Partner  within the Personal Injury Department at Leigh Day, having been at the firm for almost 12 years. She has over 13 years’ experience as a personal injury specialist,  particularly with product liability and consumer law claims involving complex large scale group actions.

She has a particular interest in medical device claims, currently representing groups of individuals in a variety of matters including failed cochlear implants, contaminated baby feed and failed knee replacement claims. She also  represents individuals who have suffered injuries from use the of cosmetic products and treatments. Prior to this, Tina helped manage the team which represented over 600 claimants in the ASR metal on metal hip litigation who had suffered from catastrophic failure of their devices requiring early revision surgeries.

Tina has significant experience with ADR, particularly arbitration of complex claims and is highly skilled in negotiations. Tina is well versed in all aspects of litigation funding and costs negotiations including pursuing matters to CADR & the SCCO.

Tina is an accredited Senior Litigator with APIL and is recognised in the Legal 500 as a rising star in the area of product liability and has been the joint co-ordinator of APIL’s Cost and Funding Special Interest Group since 2021.
