Bilal Hussain

I qualified as a Solicitor in January 2014 and have dedicated my entire career acting for Claimant’s in catastrophic and serious injury claims. I am regularly instructed in all types of claims which involve; traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, severe orthopaedic injuries including amputation, chronic pain and psychiatric injuries.

I have previously worked at a number of award-winning Personal Injury firms where I was generally instructed on catastrophic injury cases of the utmost severity, often resulting in multi million-pound settlement awards. I regularly work alongside notable leading counsel.

In 2019, I joined the Serious Injury team at Irwin Mitchell LLP in Manchester. In my role, I continue to represent Claimant’s in catastrophic injury cases. I specialise and have experience in spinal cord injury and traumatic brain injury cases. I often represent Claimants who lack mental capacity and require approval of their settlement awards.

I was involved in the notable case of Colley v Shuker & Ors [2020] EWHC 3433 (QB) heard before Mr Justice Freedman. This case was recently heard on appeal at the Court of Appeal.

I regularly participate in fundraising events for charities including: BRAKE (Road Safety Week), MacMillan Cancer Support and Manchester Central Foodbanks. I am a volunteer at Headway, a charity close to my heart.

In my spare time, I enjoy watching (and occasionally playing) football and cricket. I regularly attend the gym and enjoy walking treks in the country's many National Parks.
