Patrick Kerr MBE

Barrister, 12 KBW

Patrick is an expert in industrial disease litigation, primarily on behalf of the victims of mesothelioma. His practice is exclusively in the High Court or appellate level, including in the Supreme Court. Much of his work involves international or cross-jurisdictional claims, and/or when the victim has incapacitated dependents.

He regularly provides expert evidence on English law for foreign jurisdictions including Australia, the United States and several European Member States.

He is Head of the Industrial Disease Team at 12 King’s Bench Walk.  

Patrick is consistently ranked as a Leading Junior, Tier 1, in the Legal 500 and a Leading Junior, Band 1, in Chambers & Partners.

Away from work, he has co-founded and helps run Le Cure, a charity which funds cancer research fellowships at the Royal Marsden Hospital. He also co-founded and helps run a law scholarship to increase diversity and equality at the Bar of Northern Ireland. He was awarded an MBE for his charity work in the New Year’s Honours List 2026.
