Consultant Psychiatrist in Independent practice
Dr Clementine Maddock is a consultant psychiatrist who completed her psychiatric training at the Maudsley Hospital in London and was awarded the Laughlin Prize for the highest marks in the Royal College of Psychiatrists membership exam. Clementine became interested in law while conducting research into mental capacity to make treatment decisions amongst psychiatric inpatients. Clementine completed a Graduated Diploma in Law and was called to the Bar by Gray’s Inn in 2014.
Between 2017 and 2021 Clementine was the Specialist Advisor on Mental Health and Mental Capacity law to the Royal College of Psychiatrists, and psychiatric advisor to the Independent Review of the Mental Health Act in 2018. She has published research and book chapters on mental capacity and informed consent.
Having worked as a consultant psychiatrist and medical director for 17 years, Clementine now provides psychiatric reports for Court proceedings with a particular interest in personal injury, fitness to plead, and mental capacity. Clementine sits as a medical member in the Social Entitlement Chamber.
