Tim Annett is a Partner in the Group Actions team, based in Sheffield. The team operates across the UK, handling a full spectrum of cases ranging from lower-value, straightforward claims to complex, multi-million-pound litigation.
His primary focus is on group actions, including claims arising from medical negligence, defective products (such as medical devices), consumer goods, and vehicles.
He played a key role in establishing the team in 2013 and has since specialised in group actions, with particular expertise in product liability.
He joined Irwin Mitchell in 2007 as part of the Medical Law and Patients’ Rights team, where he focused on representing individuals affected by medical negligence. He has specialised in medical law since qualifying in 1998. A notable highlight of his career includes representing the families of victims of Harold Shipman during the Shipman Inquiry. He is accredited by AVMA as a Clinical Negligence specialist and by APIL as a Fatal Accidents specialist.
He has a longstanding interest in human rights and medical ethics, and in 2006 completed a Master’s degree in Health Care, Ethics & Law at the University of Manchester.
