Course Overview

Presenting with confidence is an essential skill for professionals who are required to communicate ideas, deliver training, chair meetings or engage audiences online. Whether presenting to a small group, a large audience or through a webinar, effective presentation skills can significantly improve communication and audience engagement.

This practical course provides delegates with the skills, techniques and confidence needed to design and deliver effective presentations. It covers the key stages of preparing a presentation, from structuring content and selecting appropriate visual aids through to using PowerPoint and presenting effectively on Zoom.

Delegates will also explore the skills required for successful chairing and webinar delivery, together with practical techniques for managing nerves and developing a calm, confident approach to public speaking.

The course is designed to provide practical, transferable skills that delegates can use immediately in professional presentations, meetings, training sessions and webinars.

Learning Objectives

By the end of the course, delegates should be able to:

  • Develop the skills and knowledge needed to present with greater confidence in a range of professional settings.

  • Plan and structure an effective presentation, ensuring that content is clear, relevant and appropriate for the intended audience.

  • Develop effective chairing skills, including managing discussions, participants and time.

  • Prepare and deliver effective webinars, taking account of the different requirements of online audiences.

  • Recognise and manage presentation nerves, using practical techniques to remain calm and focused.

  • Develop a confident and professional speaking style and improve personal presence when addressing an audience.

  • Apply practical presentation techniques to become a calm, confident and effective public speaker.
