Maternity for beginners - Part 1 - Fertility, antenatal period, pregnancy and birth choices

This webinar, presented by specialist Natalie Cosgrove will cover:

  • An in depth review of fertility, pregnancy and birth choices
  • Navigating fertility processes beyond natural conception
  • The antenatal period from the positive pregnancy test, up to birth choices
  • The routes of the antenatal period, the role of the various medical professionals and how that goes right and wrong
  • Modes of delivery, choices, birth plans and deviating from plans

Aims of the session:

  • To update knowledge of lawyers in this area
  • A guide to navigating the entire pregnancy process from pre conception up to term
  • Understanding the complex medical terms, processes and how care may change
  • Improve understanding when reviewing medical records, interviewing clients and taking proofs of evidence
  • To ensure that lawyers running these cases are able to identify when care may deviate from what is acceptable, missed opportunities and where care may be reasonable but not a prescribed route
  • To bring the participants up to date with all the recent case law
