CQC/GMC/NMC/MNSI/Health Ombudsman - Navigating disciplinary action as a none regulatory lawyer

APIL CPD:
All levels - 1 hour

(Please note that the number of CPD hours may be subject to change)

This webinar, presented by specialist Natalie Cosgrove will provide an in depth look at regulatory bodies that your clients may wish to complain to following their alleged negligence, and how that may impact on the civil claim, and how you can navigate this process, as a non regulatory lawyer. Natalie will also cover the impact this has on the civil process and your client’s themselves.

The aims of this session are to:

  • Update knowledge of lawyers in this area
  • Provide a guide to navigating the birth and the immediate period after
  • Address where births can happen, policy, processes and deviating from the ‘norm’
  • Give an understanding the complex medical terms, processes and how care may change
  • Improve understanding when reviewing medical records, interviewing clients and taking proofs of evidence
  • To ensure that lawyers running these cases are able to identify when care may deviate from what is acceptable, missed opportunities and where care may be reasonable but not a prescribed route
  • To bring the participants up to date with all the recent case law
