This webinar, presented by specialist Natalie Cosgrove will cover:

  • An in-depth review of birth, from birth plans to emergencies
  • Looking at modes of birth, when this does not go to plan and what the plan B is
  • An understanding of induction, vaginal birth, instrumental delivery and C section
  • Navigating the records
  • When incorrect decisions lead to devastating consequences
  • Navigating the birth notes and immediate period after birth

  • To update knowledge of lawyers in this area
  • A guide to navigating the birth and the immediate period after
  • Where births can happen, policy, processes and deviating from the ‘norm’
  • Understanding the complex medical terms, processes and how care may change
  • Improve understanding when reviewing medical records, interviewing clients and taking proofs of evidence
  • To ensure that lawyers running these cases are able to identify when care may deviate from what is acceptable, missed opportunities and where care may be reasonable but not a prescribed route
  • To bring the participants up to date with all the recent case law
